Adult obesity without comorbidity

All of:

  • BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2 (or ≥ 25 kg/m2 for South Asian, Southeast Asian, or East Asian adults)
  • Inadequate response to comprehensive lifestyle intervention program

Adult overweight with comorbidity

All of:

  • BMI ≥ 27 kg/m2 (or ≥ 23 kg/m2 for South Asian, Southeast Asian, or East Asian adults)
  • Inadequate response to comprehensive lifestyle intervention program

Plus any one of:

  • Hypertension
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Dyslipidemia
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Other weight-related comorbid condition

Pediatric (age ≥ 12) obesity

All of:

  • Age ≥ 12 years
  • Body weight > 60 kg
  • Obesity diagnosis
