West Virginia Medicaid coverage for Wegovy (Weight Loss)

Agents used for the purpose of weight loss are typically a benefit exclusion. Coverage of Wegovy will only be considered for the secondary prevention of a cardiovascular event and/or a diagnosis of MASH.

Policy note: Weight loss as a standalone indication is explicitly excluded. Coverage of Wegovy is only considered for CV risk reduction (secondary prevention) and/or MASH.
